Ever Taken On Too Much?

If you're ambitious, hardworking, optimistic and passionate about what you do, sadly there is a downside!
When you're wired like this, it's far too easy to take on too much and spread yourself waaay too thin.
Despite everything you've achieved, you can still end up feeling like a failure, because the most important things have moved too slowly, or perhaps haven’t even begun.
Sound familiar?
It's frustrating when you just can't seem to get to the strategic stuff. Worse, you may find your energy and enthusiasm dwindling, tolerance levels dropping and even a tad of cynicism starting to creep in.
The start of a new FY is a great opportunity to refresh your ways of working to better serve you and your cause.
⏲To lead strategically, it's critical to 𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐰𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐠𝐥𝐞 𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐦 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤 to allow for the curve balls, the opportunities, the moments of fun and connection, for thinking and planning.
📘 In my opinion, the best way to achieve this is through 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲. By getting on the front foot with your time and your schedule to lock in the important pieces first.
▶ Here's the kicker - this requires 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲 differently.
Your value is no longer in the doing, but in the thinking, leading and influencing and communicating. And this requires dedicated time and mental space for planning and preparation.
With a new financial year dawning, think about when you can carve out some strategic space in your diary as a weekly not-negotiable.
Do you already do this? Where and when do your find works best for you?
