What's Driving Your Work Ethic?

Is it possible that you're working tirelessly because deep down, you want to prove to yourself or others that you're worthy of your position?
Constantly needing to validate your worth isn’t productive (or much fun). Confidence and self-worth are intrinsic - they come from recognising your unique attributes and contribution, and from building competence over time through action and experience.
If you find yourself attending every meeting, tackling every task, and taking on projects to demonstrate your value, that’s simply not sustainable.
Instead, think about flipping this to serving others. Consider how you can distribute your responsibilities — not just to lighten your load, but to empower your team.
You might find great satisfaction in mentoring others to step into their potential, as well as relieving yourself of unnecessary pressure.
It's not selfish to delegate, it's critical for the career development of others, and succession planning for your organisation.
