Ever been on the verge of a new challenge and suddenly negative thoughts creep in, casting a shadow over your confidence?
Those unwelcome guests? That's the ANTS brigade - Automatic Negative Thoughts.
Recognising the ANTS is half the battle. Yes, they make you feel rattled and fill you with self-doubt, but you can challenge their narrative:
▪️ The doubt? It's a sign that you are learning and growing.
▪️ That anxiety? It’s passion in disguise - you care about this.
▪️ The pressure? Proof that you’re pushing yourself and want to do well.
▪️ The nerves? Know that it's just a moment in time and tell yourself that you will be ok.
They are all versions of fear, of our body trying to keep us safe. However, it sends false signals in our world of work.
As Mel Robbins says, "Feel the fear and do it anyways".
Is this something you've experienced? What works for you?
