Founded in 2008, The Adapt Group is a boutique leadership, team and organisational development practice, specialising in Executive Coaching, Team Performance, Leadership, Strategy and Culture.

We are passionate about supporting the development of thriving leaders, teams and workplaces.  We adapt best practice from big business to help purpose driven places and people to achieve meaningful impact.

Meet The Team

Sophie Graves - Director

 

With over 20 years of experience across Organisational Development, Leadership, Strategy and Communication, Sophie is a seasoned Executive, CEO, Leadership and Team Coach. 

 

Sophie has worked with small, large and global organisations in both the public and private sectors, across most industries.  This includes 6 years with KPMG and other leading-edge consulting firms before founding The Adapt Group in 2008.

Throughout this time Sophie has designed and led numerous leadership, culture and strategy programs with Executive teams and Boards.  She has coached hundreds of leaders, including CEOs, executives, business founders and specialists of all levels.

Over the last 16 years, Sophie has grown 'Adapt' into a successful coaching, leadership and organisational development practice, helping people to thrive at work. 

Sophie's qualifications are in Psychology, Business and HR.  She is a certified Executive Coach and facilitator with accreditations in several psychometric tools that build awareness of leadership and personality skills and styles.

 

Her unique skill is being to distil relevant insights into simple, practical and fit for purpose solutions, helping others to be their best, enjoy their careers and lead strategically for impact.

Rachel Bloom - Principal

Rachel is a practical organisational coach and consultant who works with people and organisations on their “perfect imperfections”, to see what else is possible and realise their potential. Having managed the complex operations of a retail/ wholesale business, consulted in Organisational Development to both global and SMEs and held Senior People & Culture leadership roles, she adapts her style to suit her clients and apply commercial pragmatism to enable real transformational change.

Her expertise spans professional services, education, not-for-profit, wholesale and retail sectors. Working in Australia, the USA and Latin America she embraces cultural diversity, leveraging it to communicate effectively to become a trusted advisor to her clients and customers. In addition, Rachel has consulted through Deloitte Private and Lonsdale Group across numerous coaching, team, culture, change and organisational development programs.

Previously, Rachel successfully managed the day-to-day operations of her family-owned wholesale and retail fabric business for five years, overseeing all aspects of business operations, staffing, operations management, financial management, business development, supplier & customer relationship management and product sourcing/range development.

Rachel is an ACC Accredited Coach, a LEGO Serious Play Facilitator and holds an Occupational Personality Questionnaire Certification.  She also completed an Assessment of Informal Learning and Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and holds a Bachelor of Arts (Monash University) and Bachelor of Commerce (Deakin University), majoring in Psychology and Human Resource Management.

Amanda Van Gils - Senior Consultant

 

Amanda is a passionate leadership coach, facilitator and strategic HR practitioner, with over 25 years of experience in HR, consulting and corporate roles.  Amanda provides effective advice and counsel for leaders looking to improve their communication, impact, effectiveness, productivity and self-leadership.

Amanda has experience leading largescale, cross-functional projects and implementing change, all while building trust and influence.  Having worked with multinational retail firms through to small online start-ups, Amanda is well versed in the demands and challenges faced by leaders in a responsive, fast-paced environments.

Understanding that competent and confident leaders determine the well-being of any organisation, Amanda embraces a coaching style that incorporates 'Mindset, Skillset and Toolset', so that leaders are supported to develop in the areas they need to succeed in their roles.

Amanda is accredited in Hogan 360 and psychometric assessments, Leadership Toolkit, Change Coach - SRG internal , LSI / GSI - Human Synergistics, DISC and SHL.  She holds a Postgraduate Degree in Industrial Relations and HR Management; a Postgraduate in Visual Arts; and a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts.
